VOLUNTEER
FOR WATER QUALITY!
Summer is just around the corner, and so is the 2016 lake
monitoring season! Volunteers are needed to assist with checking the water
quality of Dickinson County lakes with the Cooperative Lakes Area Monitoring
Project coordinated by Iowa lakeside Laboratory. Free training and equipment
are provided. To volunteer, all you need is access to a boat and to be able to
donate about 12 hours of your time over the summer. Register for one of the
workshops below or for more information, contact Jane Shuttleworth at jane-shuttleworth@uiowa.edu or 712 337 3669 Ext 7. Volunteers are especially needed for the smaller lakes:
Center Lake, Little Spirit Lake and Silver Lake.
Free Trainings (registration required):
Friday, May 27 from 10:00 a.m. to
noon or from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.;
Saturday, May 28 from 10:00 to noon;
Tuesday, May 31 from 10:00 a.m. to noon
or
Friday, June 3 from 10:00 a.m. to noon.
All trainings held in the Waitt Water Quality Lab.
