West Okoboji Lake Water Quality Buoy

Last week Iowa Lakeside Laboratory deployed a limnological buoy in 98 ft of water on West Okoboji Lake.  Data is recorded every ten minutes by the buoy and can be viewed at the following link:  https://wqdatalive.com/public/470.

Currently this buoy measures surface water temperature,  specific conductance, pH, dissolved oxygen, and carbon dioxide along with a number of weather related parameters.  Future plans are to measure water temperature and dissolved oxygen at every meter below the water surface.  Updates to the data site may change over time, so be on the look out for future posts regarding the buoy.

Be sure to check out all the sponsors at the bottom of the wqdata page who made this project possible.
